Meteor Fall Fueling Group Client: Caitlin
“As a younger person, I struggled with ED. This really got in the way of me enjoying running and resulted in what I now believe were serious under performances. During my "second act" in my mid 30s, I am mentally in such a good space that I felt ready to take on fueling in a serious way. I liked Kelsey's content on social media and thought it was simple and would dovetail nicely with my mentality to run strong, rather than being afraid of food. This is what prompted me to sign up for Meteor Nutrition’s Fall Fueling Program.
My biggest challenges prior to signing up for the Fall Fueling Program were eating enough before, during and after the run! Also, getting high quality food on my plate, rather than bowls of cereal and snacks to feed the sort of hungry ghost I'd have after a hard effort.
My biggest nutrition frustrations with nutrition was performance plates, hands down. So much better for me than counting calories or tracking macros. Practical and even a little fun!
My success with nutrition was not feeling totally trashed after my long run workouts. That is how I knew things were starting to shift. Just better and quicker recovery day after day during my marathon build this fall. :::knocks wood::: no injuries or setbacks...
Now my nutrition and performance, from the program, is now fewer snacks (but now I know how to make a proper one with a carb +fat/protein!) and more nutrient dense meals. I like that I can create performance plates easily - I appreciated the module about travel nutrition or even the reality that pre-packaged food has a place on my plate and can be a real time saver!

(During the program we ran a fun little contest of who could post the most performance plates. The winner of the contest won a free 1:1 session with a Meteor Dietitian. The group really enjoyed sharing all of their performance plates and all of the members were very engaged - it was a great turnout. It was a fun competition, and a lot of drooling on my end!)
We asked Caitlin if she feels like the fall fueling program has prepared her for future races? Her answer: “Yes!!!” (insert mic drop)
