Meteor Rockstar and Chicago Marathon Runner, Meg R.

Storms make trees have deeper roots!

Storm= Milton and Helene
Trees= Meg
Roots= Controllables (ie nutrition)

Tampa resident and Meteor rockstar, Meg, who barely got on her plane post-hurricane(s) Friday PR’ed in the Chicago Marathon by 19 minutes.

I can’t pick the most impressive part of this story. Meg is a working mom of 2, that I’ve seen, juggle the logistics of double hurricanes (Helene and Milton) in these final weeks of taper and prep. She acknowledged to me even having guilt thinking about whether she could get on a plane to run a race and I witnessed her (via social) actively helping her community for the sake of its recovery.

Aside from all of this, her whole house got sick the week before the race and we were sorting out last minute immunity plans on tape of carb loads and tweaks to nutrition.

Meg said after the race that there’s no way she would have PRed (19 minutes!) without sticking to fueling plan.

So to recap:

☄️ First marathon in 11 years and as a mom and PR by 19 minutes

☄️ Trained in Fl over a brutal summer

☄️ Her taper was hurricane mania

☄️ Managed an illness during the race

☄️Chicago finisher and amazing human!

As ALWAYS, marathons are unpredictable. Meg managed the controllable through ACTUAL 🌀. If you want to sharpen your controllables, check out link below for our 1:1 nutrition coaching program to have personalized guidance throughout an entire marathon block.
