I reached out to Kelsey because I was just diagnosed with my second bone injury within 1 year. Although I was not intentionally under fueling at the time, I have a history of disordered eating and sub-optimal blood lab values, so I had a feeling there were pieces missing in my nutrition.
My biggest challenge at the time was that I could not get through a full training block without a bone injury. I also had a long history of GI issues that made fueling for marathon training more difficult.
I felt frustrated because I had already come such a long way recovering from my disordered eating habits when I fell in love with marathon training, yet was still getting injured years later.
Success with my nutrition is knowing what and how much my body needs, given my current training (hint: it's more than I thought!), and also eating so that I can run by best, not just to avoid injuries.
My nutrition now is supporting my training- I just ran a half marathon personal best of 1:21:56! I no longer have GI issues, I have more energy during my work day, and I feel better recovered after big workouts. I am seeing the direct results of increased carb intake on my long runs, and know I'll continue to run faster times in the future.
If you are unsure if you are eating to fully support your training goals, or have chronic/repetitive injuries, I would highly recommend working with Kelsey. She considers all aspects of your life symptoms, preferences, and goals. I am so happy I made the decision to work with her and my running agrees :)
