Meteor Rockstar: Emma Grace
You may recognize Emma Grace (Atlanta Track Club Elite athlete) as she has climbed her way to the top of the USA Track & Field road running circuit this past season with several other commendable performances along with that.
Emma Grace was so fun to work with as an athlete that already possessed a fueling mindset. She truly had an itch to find what she needed to implement so her body could afford her the ability doing more of what she loved.
Listening to her talk about training, running, and racing- it's no secret how much she loves it. No wonder she was ready to fuel in a way where she would have no limits.
She says, "prior to meeting with Kelsey, I overall ate pretty well, but was under fueling following hard sessions and I didn't snack in between meals. I didn't notice that this was a blind spot of mine because I was eating something and was not consciously restricting food, but I was definitely not getting enough fuel to recover properly".
Emma Grace states that she "did not realize how much something simple like adding an additional 300 calories post workout would jump start recovery."
Since working on her nutrient timing and recovery, she shared she had been able to string more productive training together that does not feel as "sluggish".
She even reflects on a strategy she developed with Meteor (Kelsey) with meal planning . Emma Grace admits that her nutrition has improved with better meal plan skills, especially during training camp this previous December-January.
She says, "Kelsey helped me come up with a plan to make sure I was fueling well even when sharing a kitchen and in an unfamiliar environment"
